About Me

My name is Daniel, and I’m a musical theatre pianist based in New York City. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Music, completing the Professional Music program with a concentration in Music Direction. Previously, I’ve toured as the Associate Conductor for the national tours of Waitress and Finding Neverland. Other previous projects: Dear Evan Hansen, Born for This, and Burn All Night. I am currently working for Music Theatre International as a Senior Music Specialist. I am a proud cat dad.

Résumé

Music Theatre International

Senior Music Specialist
April 2023 - Present

As a Senior Music Specialist for MTI, my work may sound a lot like Music Copying and Library Management. Specializing in Finale, Sibelius, and Dorico notation softwares, my responsibilities include creating vocal books, formatting and revising scores and parts, and performing various music editing tasks. I also ensure the accuracy of our music materials by proofreading scores and orchestrations, identifying and correcting errors, and preparing reprints. Additionally, I oversee the concert library, extracting new songs, collaborating with customers to meet their specific needs, and maintaining the library’s organization.

Music Customer Support Librarian
April 2022 - April 2023

My first role at MTI, I provided comprehensive support to customers and internal departments. I handled inquiries, assisted with materials, and contributed to the department’s overall efficiency through strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction. My expertise in music notation software and my knowledge of musical theatre industry standards enabled me to deliver high-quality support and ensure accurate and timely responses.

I’m very happy to offer up several music direction services. Please read below to see if I have a solution for you. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, or if you have any questions, please contact me to inquire about your specific needs. If budget is an issue, please reach out.

Rep. Coaching

Rep. Coaching allows you to work on existing repertoire, learn new repertoire, workshop various keys for your songs, and get feedback on your song selections. This is great for general musical theatre coaching to help strengthen your book or work on songs for existing & upcoming projects. We can analyze the material and discuss intention, style, and delivery. You may record the entire session as well as record a piano track of your selection(s). I currently only offer in-person sessions.

($30/half-hour)

Audition Prep

Get ready for your next audition without the stress. Together we will collaboratively find successful cuts for your song(s), and then practice and hear the cuts so you are prepared for the big day. We’ll also discuss the best practices to communicate with the audition pianist for your specific selections. You may record the entire session as well as record a piano track of your selection(s). I currently only offer in-person sessions.

($30/half-hour)

Tracks

Send in your sheet music and receive high quality tracks for use in self-tapes. There is no in-person session needed.

What you receive:

  • Plunk Track (vocal melody only)

  • Accompaniment Track (accompaniment only)

  • Guide Track (both vocal melody & accompaniment)

($25/minute of music)

Transpositions & Audition Cuts

Enough of messy cuts and auto-generated transpositions that are unreadable! Send in your music and edits and receive freshly formatted sheet music to match your specifications. Your music will be easily readable and professional quality, created with the pianist in mind. Changed your mind about the key? After your first transposition, all future transpositions are just $1.00 per page. There is no in-person session needed.

($10/page OR $5/page when paired with an Audition Prep session)
